Can You See?
Lyn T. Christian, PMP, MCC, CFCC

There is a change coming. One that is filtering in on silent jet-streams of higher consciousness. Stealthy, steady it arrives. Have you noticed?

Visionary, architect, poet, inventor Buckminster Fuller once defined wealth in terms of knowledge. He referred to it as the “technological ability to protect, nurture, support and accommodate all growth needs of life.” Somewhere in the mid-seventies he concluded that humanity had crossed an unprecedented watershed - we now had enough. The point? There need no longer be war, hunger, or poverty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckminster_Fuller

Three decades later I fail to see a strong, united, governmentally organized effort joining all mankind together in order to feed our hungry. What I do see is this: Individuals are not waiting for their governments to do something. Foundations and social entrepreneurship are slowly, surely reaching out and closing the gap between having enough and making sure it gets distributed. Think of Oprah, Angolina, Vidal and Lynne Twist. Lynn is a veteran global activist and fundraiser against hunger. In her book The Soul of Money she lists 56 non-profit orgainizations along with her own that are transforming the way we privately reallocate our resources. Individual citizens of the planet are emerging as our global leaders.

Would you agree that many of us respect openmindedness, the pursuit of inquiry and the free-flow of ideas? To this point, two current publications (God is Not Great by Christopher Hitchens and The Assault on Reason by Al Gore) were recommened to me by artist John Bell. As he suggested, they are facinating when read side-by-side. One significant observation I’m gaining from this exercise is : We are no longer collecting around a “faith.” We as humans no matter if we attend a religious or spiritual congregation are shifting. We are tending to not rely soley on religion, or science or reason for answers. We distrust notions that contradict science. We are no longer blindely subsribing to what outrages reason. We are facinated with an uncanny individualized capacity to touch the infinite. Most recenlty witnessed in the wildfire of success enjoyed by the phenomenon we know as The Secret. Religion it seems has and will continue to lose its ability to tell us how to know, define, and relate to God. We are doing that on our own with the influx of modern day prophets of sorts. Think: Deepak Chopra, Bryon Katie, Marianne Williamson, Wayne Dyer, etc. Personal mindfulness and higher consciousness are elevating our souls one heart, one mind at a time.

And so my purpose for writing a short version of the thoughts banging around in my head is to suggest that there are patterns unfolding before our eyes. This shift, this quiet wave of human evolution is revealing itself. Transformation will not wait for our religions and governments. It will come one self designated leader at a time. “We are heading into a new millennium with our religious, and family institutions all up for reinvention.” Danah Zohar, Rewiring the Corporate Brain

Can you see that?
